Founded in 2008 by Grissom, O'Neill and Urbano, San Francisco Parlor Opera is a small opera company based in San Francisco that performs operas in their original language to small audiences in private homes and other intimate settings. SF Parlor Opera is committed to carrying the power and beauty of opera in an immediate environment with the audience as close to the music and drama as possible.  In the words of The San Francisco Weekly "S.F. Parlor Opera is exactly what it sounds like -- a small company devoted to performing largely unadulterated classic opera in private homes and other scaled-down settings, with a net effect of something like a night at the Met meets MTV's Cribs."

Last Spring San Francisco Parlor Opera mounted its third production, Gounod's Faust.  In the words of one audience member:  "All the way home we kept talking about how wonderful your show was! You all are very special.  Even today when we woke up, we kept talking about it. What an accomplishment!"  SF Parlor Opera's two previous productions, Mozart's "Le Nozze di Figaro" and "Cosi Fan Tutte" both enjoyed successful sold out runs and enthusiastic reviews.  One audience member blogged, "Last night's Le Nozze di Figaro... was a knock out!... I firmly celebrate this troupe, encourage anyone who lives within striking range of SF to take advantage of this amazing production... I have been fortunate enough to enjoy operas in most of the great capitals of Europe, as well as several in Asia, Africa and across the U.S. [This was one of my] top three opera experiences."

Please join us this coming season and share this most visceral experience of opera with us!
